It
is very clear that employment has turned out to be a great threat in our nation
today just as it is the case in the whole word. But in Kenya, it may not be
wise to hastily blame everything on the economy and employers. This land has
tremendous opportunities which haven't yet been exploited. You can argue on
this but please read down and you'll realize that in one way or another, you
don't have any reason to complain of being jobless in Kenya..
.
Yes,
I understand career boundaries, personal interest and the “what you'll like to
be phrase”, but don't forget that essence of always being realistic and open
minded in life. You can work on this and other ideas as you wait for you career
choice other than stay idle. There is a high chance that your eyes may open up
by reading the below discussed field, so don't ignore or assume that you
already know, this could help!
Agriculture-
kale farming in Kenya
Kenya
is known in the whole world for its agricultural produces. This has been there
for many years so you don't really need lots of research to get approval that
farming works in Kenya. It's fact that you don't really need to be a large
scale firmer so as to be an exporter of food crops, NO. There are plenty of
organizations that bring small farmers together and help them to sell their
products into the international market. Among the most popular include; Young farmers,
small scale farmers association and Coffee board of Kenya.
However
you may be coming from an area which lacks such organizations but that shouldn’t
be an issue. The technique is: have the product! Food supplies will never lack market;
-in fact there is always a ready market for every food crop just next to your
doorstep. And that simply means money! Sounds small huh? Then, here is the one
million dollar question worth asking, are you ready to live and die jobless....
Start small buddy! You have to have the produces at hand so as to begin a
market search.
Take
for instance kale farming in Kenya. You need very little capital to begin this,
in fact for a hundred stems you need only less than Khs 200/=. So let’s be
realistic guys, getting such an amount is not an issue. Figuring the much you
spent on your cell phone credit, it’s a fact that you can't fail to get 200/=
bob?
Let's
proceed, preparing a nursery will take you less than half a day for this and
the formula is simple. Accumulate a soft layer of soil in a 2*2 meter plot of
land and roof it with grass to avoid direct sunlight. Poor your seeds on
shallow finger-made tunnels then sprinkle some water if the soil is too dry.
Transplant
the seedlings into a lager section of well prepared land after 2 weeks and
ensure to water them regularly until they get strong. Check and spray your
kales whenever you notice an aphid invasion (aphids are small insects which are
easily eliminated by spraying). Also you can seek for more kale growing tips
and help in any agro-chem facility around.
So
far your mind is working! Is it? Assuming with these 100 stems you get khs300
per harvest or can comfortably feed 10 families for are week what if you expand
your boundaries to 800 stems? It is no doubt that you can do wonders within the
shortest time possible. All you need is commitment and working smart. By this I
mean you can decide to be supplying your agricultural commodities only to the
rich guys and men! You'll catch them as is a fact that rich people prefer fresh
vegetable! So aren't you working now!
